Three jeeps driving down a dirt roadThe search for oil and gas starts with exploration using geophysical (seismic) exploration for conventional oil and gas. Once the sub-surface resources have been identified, approvals are granted for surface rights to industrial users.

Surface rights granted includes Mineral Surface Leases [MSL], Licenses of Occupation [LOC], Pipeline Agreements [PLA], Pipeline Installation Leases [PIL], Powerline Easements [EZE], Vegetation Control Easements [VCE], and Rural Electrification Easements [REA].
