The Lands Division is responsible for the management of industrial, commercial and agricultural public land dispositions in accordance with the Public Lands Act, and related legislation, regulations and policies. Approximately 220 000 active surface activities were on public lands as of April 1, 2006. Annual applications have been increasing over the past number of years and peaked at approximately 20 000 in the 2005/2006 fiscal year.

EDS (Electronic Disposition System)

The PCS, implemented on June 5, 2006, allows clients to virus check, level check, zip and encrypt plan packages prior to submitting to the department through EDS. Plan packages that are approved by the system will be processed, encrypted and sent back to the submitter with a confirmation number.

EA (Electronic Assignments)

EA will allow clients to submit requests for assignment of surface dispositions electronically, to SRD. The service is being developed in cooperation with Alberta Energy through their Electronic Transfers System (ETS). Electronic Assignments was implemented June 19, 2006

Online DDiPS (Disposition Digital Plan Submission)
