Geographic Information is information related to the land surface within Alberta. It comprises of the following products and activities:

Geodetic
map The provision of the provincial spatial referencing system through the Geodetic Surveys Unit at the Director of Surveys.

Surveys
Responsibility for the coordination of the establishment, maintenance and preservation of the provincial land survey system through the Land Surveys Unit at the Director of Surveys. map

Air Photo
map Photo Distribution has a collection of over 1.3 million aerial photographs covering the entire province of Alberta dating back to 1949. Medium or small scale black & white and colour photography are available for viewing in the Reference Library. Maps
Distribution of map products was privatized in the early 1990s. The Alberta Sustainable Resource Development online Map Distribution Centre contains a directory of retail map dealers throughout the province, including contact information, as well as a complete listing of available map products.
