The following are Alberta Sustainable Resource Development's forest health data standards and survey procedure documents in pdf format. Most of these documents are excerpts from the "Forest Health Aerial Survey Manual" or forest health management guides.

Aerial Survey Standards This document is an excerpt form the "Forest Health Aerial Survey Manual". It gives a general description of different types of aerial surveys, and limitations and assumptions. It describes how aerial surveys are performed for specific damage agents. This document also identifies the minimum standards for Alberta Sustainable Resource Development's forest health GIS coverages. Damage Codes This document contains all the provincial forest health damage codes used to categorize damage agents identified in various aerial and ground surveys. Ground Survey Standards This document briefly describes each ground survey that is available for download and summarizes the data collection procedures. It describes the attribute data for the ground survey data that has been extracted from the FIRES database. You must read this document to understand the data.
