Message from the Chair

As one of the first Alberta municipalities affected by the mountain pine beetle, my community knows the tremendous impact of this devastating forest pest. We need to be forward-thinking, and we need to move proactively to limit the damage of this threat to our forests. The mountain pine beetle advisory committee brings to the table affected communities, industry, conservation and environmental groups, the B.C., Alberta and federal governments, and mountain pine beetle experts to determine the optimum courses of action to protect our environment, our resources and our values. ~ Dr. John Irwin
