Residence Information

There are two residences on the Hinton Training Centre campus. The Mountain View Residence has 114 beds, and a weight room. It also houses the dining room. The Valley View Residence has 66 beds.

Each residence has a kitchenette, laundry facilities, vending machines and lounges with TVs and various leisure equipment. Overnight guests may access facilities in either residence. 

All candidates are booked for Room and Board unless indicated otherwise on their registration form and all applicable fees will be invoiced after course ends.

• For courses starting at 8:15 am, a room will be booked for the night before.
• For courses starting at 1:00 pm or later a room will be booked for that day.

Any changes with accommodation must be noted on the student registration form and received at least one week prior to course start.

Rooms are booked for double occupancy and married accommodation is not available. Feel free to drive up to the residence to unload your belongings. As soon as you have unloaded, move your vehicle to the student parking to avoid being ticketed and towed. Student/residence parking is located southwest of the rappel tower. This parking lot is well lit and has power outlets for vehicles. The lower level of the Mountain View and Valley View Residences contain coin operated laundry machines (detergent is not available). If you are staying in residence for more than one week, linen will be exchanged on Friday morning (one sheet and a pillowcase). Please note the times for linen exchange which are posted in each residence building. Garbage will be collected when placed outside of your door.

Quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Respect this period and allow everyone to get some sleep.

Residence Check-in

Weekdays between 8:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays)
Proceed to the General Office in the Academic Building for room assignment and completion of the "Residence Agreement Form."

Weekdays after 4:30 p.m. to midnight (including weekends and statutory holidays)
Proceed to Office 416 in Mountain View Residence and check-in with the night clerk. In the event that the night clerk is not immediately available, a courtesy phone located outside of Office 416 can be utilized to contact the night clerk and commence room assignment process.

Arrival after midnight
If arriving after midnight, you will need to find your own overnight accommodations (at your own expense). Contact the General Office in the Academic Building the next business day for your room assignment.
