Whether walking around the beautiful grounds of our complex, making use of our exercise facilities or those in Hinton itself, you'll find there are many ways to relax or to keep in shape during your stay at the Hinton Training Centre!

The academic building has a full-size gymnasium where you can play basketball and other sports. There is also a library with comfortable couches for reading, and several computer stations for checking email or using the Internet.

Each residence has a lounge with a television and various leisure activities like ping-pong, games, books etc. Overnight guests may access facilities in either residence.

Mountain View Residence hosts a weight room located on South section of the residence on the bottom floor. There are three cardiovascular machines (treadmill, elliptical trainer andd exercise bike), weight benches along with a wide variety of free weights. A television with cable completes this room and the room is always open for your convenience.

The Town of Hinton has a wide range of businesses, several of which offer evening entertainment. The Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Complex houses two indoor ice arenas, indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, racquetball and squash courts, public library and cafeteria.

Other recreational facilities include tennis courts, curling rink, baseball diamonds, soccer fields and a golf course. For the shopper, there are a number of malls, shopping centres and outlets from which to choose.

Outside, the surrounding landscape offers the chance to walk, hike, explore, and otherwise enjoy the fresh air and scenery. There are many trails, include the Interpretive Trail which winds through the nearby forested area. When exploring the area, don't be surprised if you see a variety of wildlife along the path.

In any season you will see picturesque views of the nearby mountains, stands of trees, and the smallest of wild creatures.
