The ASRD New Hires Training Program was developed specifically for new employees who have worked approximately two years in SRD. Program participants start off by attending the New Employee Orientation training session, typically offered at the Forestry Depot (warehouse) in Edmonton. Operational program delivery staff will typically move on to attend the "Field Staff Orientation Training" offered at the Hinton Training Centre. The "Forestry Division Academy" is the last level of training offered in the New Hires program. Operational staff attending the Forestry Division Academy are exposed to key knowledge and skills needed to carry out core Forest Management and Forest Protection roles and responsibilities.
