History and Credits

Last Review/Updated: May 31, 2002

This web site and the species descriptions in the associated web sites (Hunting, Fishing, Trapping) are a reproduction of material originally published by the Fish and Wildlife Division during the late 1970s and early 1980s as a series of brochures/posters, Alberta's Watchable Wildlife. The series was used in school classrooms, and by youth groups and outdoor instructors to teach about our amazingly rich wildlife heritage. Because of budget and staff cutbacks in subsequent years, the Fish and Wildlife Division is no longer able to produce these documents in printed form. However, the advance of the World Wide Web has provided another outlet.
