1 Only endangered bison are those found, killed or captured on land in northwestern Alberta, extending from around the Hay-Zama lakes and north and west to the N.W.T. and B.C. borders.

2 Although the ESCC has proposed a "threatened" or "endangered" designations for these species, new regulations for the protection of plant, fish and invertebrate species must be developed before the listing process can be completed.
