In March of 2007 the SRD Minister decided to defer the approval of the draft 2006 C5 Forest Management Plan until ASRD has had an opportunity to review the Oldman Watershed Council's State of the Watershed Project report which is anticipated to be completed sometime in December 2007. Also, ASRD is to re-evaluate the C5 Forest Management Plan as to how other management objectives could be achieved including healthy forests, healthy watersheds, habitat for recreation and biodiversity, tourism and recreation and a healthy and profitable and sustainable forest industry. It is anticipated that the Minister will make a decision regarding the draft 2006 C5 Forest Management Plan in 2008.
