Southern Alberta Sustainability Strategy
Last Review/Updated: November 3, 2004
- The Southern Alberta Sustainability Strategy is one of two regional strategies being led by Alberta Environment.
- Regional Strategies address long-term sustainable resource and environmental management over large areas of Alberta. They provide a forum for a dialogue between government, stakeholders and citizens on the future they want.
- This strategy takes stock of our current situation in Alberta, and assesses the consequences of potential environmental changes over the next two generations. It will try to identify issues that we need to address to meet society’s needs, while at the same time protecting the environment.
- Sustainable Resource Development is involved in this Strategy given our mandate to manage key elements of our environment including Alberta's public lands, fisheries, wildlife, and forest resources.
